I'd dump the pipes for something low and traditional that wouldn't burn saddle bags, but I like it a lot!

I am checking on the possibility of having our ISP continue to leave this board up as Biketalk.com if anyone is interested in running it. I would hate to see this thing die off as it is a great place for information and good conversation. I can continue to contribute with tech posts and I would convey copyrights to it and our articles. one advantage could be allowing Google to run ads as it can pay for the site itself as could other businesses as sponsors. This is how V-Twin has become so large and has many sponsors.
All it would take is someone willing to take on the challenge. It is a fun thing to do and was one of the more rewarding parts of our business.

My son recently had his 2002 DWG in for 10K Service. Bike ran fine prior to having 10K Service performed. Now it is really running rough, backfiring, spitting and sputtering etc. He lives in Hawaii where temperatures stay pretty much the same. The bike is carbuerated. At about the same time Hawaiian Gas Stations all went to a 10 percent ethanol/gas mixture. Would the transition from gas to ethanol/gas mixture cause the problem, and could re-jetting the carbuerator cure the problem? I have had to use ethanol/gas out west in two of my bikes, both EFI and have not had any such problems. Any ideas. John

Buddy has an 01 883, 15K on it all in Florida. We recently trailered it up to the mts of NC/TN (did the tail). Bike ran good, though he said he noticed a slight lack of power. Got back to Florida and the bike sat for a week or so. He tried to start her up and it was rough, wouldn't hold a steady idle with the chock out or in. Pulled the plugs and they were very black and coated, cleaned them up a bit. We got it to idle but still very rough, got it in the road, a few backfires with black exhaust out the pipe with each backfire, after about 5 minutes of this, it started to run fine, no black exhaust with backfires, and idle was fine. Any ideals on why the plugs were fouled so bad (we changed them just before the trip with pre-set HD plugs). Bike run's great now, just curious.
