New Camera Mails Tickets to Noisy Cars
New technology allows police to mail automated tickets to cars with loud stereos and noisy exhausts.
Transportation officials are looking to expand the use of photo enforcement to cash in on motorists who blast their stereos or use modified, high-performance exhausts. At least one agency has expressed interest in a ticketing system developed by Acoustic Research Laboratories, a New South Wales company that developed acoustic detection equipment for the Australian Navy.
The fully automated setup mails traffic citations to passing vehicles that exceed a predetermined noise threshold. It can detect loud subwoofers, a noisy exhaust, or even an inopportune honk of the horn.

I've read a lot on this issue in previous posts but here's my specific problem. Had the SE slip-ons, air intake and re-map done at dealer before I picked er up. Only have 500 miles on it. Bike starts great and runs perfect on acceleration. The problem is, while holding a steady throtle in the mid gears it feels like the motor has a miss or a surge. But when I roll the throtle it's all there. The plugs look lean to me and the exhaust tips don't have any carbon build up at all. The dealer says nothing can be done except for a PC or other fuel managment system, which will void the warranty. I guess I don't understand , after laying out 20 G's for this bike, that I have to live with this problem for two years !! Anyone else have this problem ? Any sugestions on how to deal with it ? Is...

I bought some fat T-Bar handlebars for my 99 Fatboy that are already drilled for internal wiring. It looks like I have plenty of wire to feed through the bars without having to splice and extend the wires. I would like to avoid splicing them just to feed them through the bars unless I really have to.
I took the tanks off, unplugged the right contol harness from the main harness and started taking apart the plug itself. I pulled off the solid cover on the end of the plug and have the pins exposed. I began pulling one of the pins out and it appears to be crimped on the end. I would like to find out if a) are the pins able to be removed from the plug without detroying them and b) can I purchase these pins if I end up wrecking one or two in the process?

Okay, so we are going to change exhaust on our bikes. Can't hear our own pipes when sitting side by side with other HD's that have aftermarket exhausts.
Up here there is a decibel limit of 106.
Is there anywhere that has a chart as to what the expected db will be after installing?
Also, I don't want my neighbors to pelt the house with eggs.
Thanks, Steve
