Hi all.
I put an original CV 40 on a 78 shovel. No air leaks, jetted properly using stoic numbers and exhaust oxygen sensor, accelerator pumps works correctly. Problem is that when accelerating gently before the operation of the accelerator pump such as when adjusting slightly for an increased road gradient or increasing speed gently the carb is leaning out out until a constant throttle position is attained. If the throttle is yanked open and the accelerator pump is brought into play the problem is not experienced. How do I enriched the mixture on throttle opening but before accelerator pump operation?

No doubt about it – Gurty is an ambitious project.
I don’t have a confirmed date yet, but I need to be ready for sea freight to the UK sometime in early 2023.
Come hell, high water, or ruptured ducks, I’ll need a reliable set of wheels ready to go on that boat.
I originally estimated that the timeline to complete Gurty would be tight, but probably-maybe-kinda do-able.
However, experience has shown that announcing your plans to the universe is tempting fate to caca on them.
Hence, it’s healthy to have a strong plan B.
Lucky I did, because my workumstances (i.e. everything in my life not bike-related) have been conspiring to restrict the amount of time I have to work on Gurty.
Also, external factors – such as the Engineer’s availability to inspect and certify my work – are proving...

I recently finished rebuilding a 84" panhead with a CV carburetor and stock ignition system of points and condenser. At the time of start up I had a free flowing exhaust system on it. Since then putting on 600 trouble free miles. Over the winter I installed a replica stock exhaust system that is considerably quieter than the previous exhaust set up. As it stands now, it pops when cold, stalls out at a stop and it stubborn to restart when stalled. My question is, do I need to rejet the carb because of the increased back pressure?

The urban dictionary defines Gurty as “something that looks so wrong it's right.”
I need a bike to go back for TT23.
This is my how-to guide.
Let me know if you can prove this is your bike.
I have a gift for you.
This is Gurty.
Or, should I say, this is the early stages of Gurty being re-born.

I have a 2015 Harley Roadster, been looking for an oil that will at least be durable and hold up, looking to go with this:
https://www.searchforparts.com/moto...-2015-xl-883r-sportster-roadster-cs-883-54-ci
if you have another suggestion for long distance protection or intervals let me know, I ride for long distances and would rather not have someone I do now know service my bike if I am far from home, so I need something that can stretch out the interval and not break down to get back home for service, thank you!!
