A long time and very good friend bought a wrecked 2005 peace keepers FL. Any leads on front end parts would be appreciated. Directionals, fog lamp and bar, fender, all kinds of trim, lower legs etc... Thanks in advance.
I'm looking at a Yamaha V Star right now that has 650 CCs. Its got pretty low miles and I really like the look of the bike. Also the price is right and with the money I have in pocket I should be able to buy most of my gear and register it. So lets say I can fit on the bike and its comfortable and I really like it. My concern is that I'm not sure that I would be happy with 650 CCs forever. I keep hearing things like "Never less than 1200 CC's" from most of the bikers I talk to. I don't realistically know how much of this position is posturing and rhetoric. I'm not trying to be flashy or have the coolest bike here. So I see two avenues if I purchase this bike. 1. I learn to ride on it and trade it in like most beginners do, or 2. I save up while learning on the 650 engine to do an engine...
Red, I know this is a long shot but by chance, do you remember the name of the chief mechanic at Hals Harley Davidson when Red blew a crank bearing? I remember that the Service manager that was there when we got there wasn't the one you spoke to because the guy that was there when we rolled up was like 2 days new.
I have a 2003 flhtc carbrurated. I relocated from Fairbanks Ak elevation 600’ above sea level to Albuquerque NM alt. 5000’ above sea level. Shipped it here and when it got hear i ask the local Harley shop to rejet the carb for the altitude change and was told that because it had a CV carb on it that no jet changes were nessacary because the CV carb adjusted to the altitude automatically ? That sound right to you? I have since installed CVPreformance kits and rejetted it and am very happy with how it runs but I’ve always been curious about the altitude compensating cv carb and if that information is correct?
