My 120 had a lifter bearing freeze up, Bits and pieces of metal all over the insides, ruined the cam, threaded end of the crankshaft in the cam chest is chewed to bits too. Metal in the oil filter. So, where can I find the specs for rebuilding the thing???? Piston ring end clearance, bushing clearance, things like that. 2nd time this engine had lifter failure.

I got a 1983 FLH Shovelhead and having problems with the starter. When I check the voltage at the solenoid on the battery lead I have 12v, and when I disconnect the small lead from switch I have 12v on that wire, but when I put the small wire back on solenoid, I only get about 8v on small wire and wire going to starter, but still have 12v on the battery lead on solenoid. Could it be a bad solenoid?

Don't look back
A new day is breakin'
It's been too long since I felt this way (well, almost 2 weeks)
I don't mind where I get taken
The road is callin'

I'm heading on out today on a spur-of-the-moment run. Going to wander out east through NV and Utah to Colorado. Meeting my niece in CO on Thursday to escort her ride back from her summer job in Golden. She's riding the Sportster 1200 Custom that I inherited from my Dad and then gave to her, after my son decided it was too small for him (he is much bigger than I am). Her longest day ride has been just under 400 miles, and that was a round trip. This will be her first multi-day trip, no reservation ride, unless she decides make it an Iron Butt run - which I hope she...

bought wife summer jacket. She only had a heavy riding jacket.
Pleasantly surprised. Not expensive either. Armor was extra but great it had places on the elbows and shoulders for it.

99 1200 Sport engine on a Redneck Engineering custom frame. Can't accelerate quickly or pull a load without bogging down. Pulled carb and disassembled. Carb seems to have had a dynojet installed from previous owner. Main jet is a 170 slow jet is 42. Everything seems to look fine. Kinda stumped unless the jets are to small. Looked at cvp for a tuner kit but they do not offer for Sporter Sport model with dual plug heads. Any insight would be appreciated.
