Heh guys, who's up on Sportster pipes? I get an '04 Roadster model with forward controls. Before delivery I had the dealer install Screamin' Eagle carb unit anticipating a later-pipes purchase.
Now, I'm up in the air as to which brand and style to get. I'd like a mid-level volume (up tight neighborhood) but a purring, sweet tone to match my saxophonist's ears. I'll have a pro install them. Just trying to get some solid recommendations; I don't want the Sportster to emulate a tricked-out chopper, but would love a better "harley" sound.

I have a 96 FLHR with an Evo. Engine mods are the heads have been milled bigger cam, roller rockers and adjustable pushrods. Recently I started getting a real lowd tapping noise down low after the engine was hot. After research and alot of asking around I replaced the pinion gear to the next size bigger. It worked great for about 2 months and now it is making the same tapping noise again. If anyone has any idea why it started again I would greatly appriciate it.

Hey I'm just wondering if anyones heard from HotRoadKing since the changeover? For all I know he may be using a new nic and I wouldn't be able to tell since No-one seems willing to post their location in their profiles ...It'd be a shame if he didn't come back; I learned a lot of stuff from him and his various posts to others on this board.

Can someone tell me the performance and sound difference between the Big Shots staggered and the longs? Or is there very little difference? These will be going on 2004 Fat Boy.

So, don't make it easy on me if you guys wanna ride to California cause I just got hired at Houston Kawasaki. I'll be working there Thursday through Saturdays with the exception of race weekends where I'll be off Saturday. I just got the call today. Soooo, I guess I'm committed for a while. This will be good for me. Heck, they're starting me at 17 and hour. I didn't know wrenches made that much now days. I'll be taking home, with my IRA checks, more than I did at the plant. And, I get to keep my shop going here at the house, too. That's just bonus cash.
Anyways, there won't be any riding on Saturdays for me for a while. I'll work there for a couple of years probably anyhow. It's only three days a week. It's 120 miles to the shop from my house, but I can stay at Brazos Bend...
