Thought I wasn't going to get to go, but one of my shop students gave me two comps for this evening's show at the Rocky Mount Harley dealership. (Guess who's going to get straight "A"s the rest of the school year - just kidding! My wife, poor dear, can't go because of previous engagements, so I will ride my sickle there and take it all in.
I'll be meeting with Tattoo and his girl and a friend Tony is bringing who will get my spare ticket. It's supposed to rain (20% chance) this evening, so they are riding up in Tony's truck, but I'm riding my scoot come hell or high water. About a 65 or 70 mile round trip and it will be dark on the way home. Will post pictures as I'm taking my camera. See y'all later!

Having read numerous reports it appears that he failed to negotiate a high speed curve and went over the side of the road, his bike flipping over and over tossing him and his wife. Mrs Tiley is still in critical condition.
Mr. Tilleys name goes way back 40 years in the motorcycle racing and tuning in the era of Ray Price,Truett and Osbourne,Pete Hill and others. Mr. Tilley tweaked and tuned Lucifers Hammer back in the day. Mr. Tilley owned 2 dealerships, the better known one was in Statesville. He was 78.

Took a ride on Saturday with a friend of mine who sells for a local bike retailer. He usually has something different for a demo, and he usually brings along something he has heard me express an interest in, but this time he threw a curve ball.
Was supposed to be a few more people, but weather, relatives visiting, and other plans had culled the herd to just me and him.
So at departure time a Ducati Diavel shows up with him on it. He says, "1200cc, V-Twin,like your Sporty." Um, no.
162hp, 6 speed, 240/45/17 rear tire, not quite like the Sporty, but close...
So we left Moncton, down through Petitcodiac, Cornhill, to Sussex, then through, Norton, Hampton, to Quispamsis where we stopped for gas. A bit over ten bucks for me, almost 15 for the Ducati. We were both full at the start.

When we were at the hotel in Bloomsburg we had taken a little nap after dinner,we went outside to head to the sports bar to our surprise a gaggle of GW's had assembled. GW's of all shapes sizes and configurations. Trikes, trikes with trailers, trikes with sidecars etc..and most of the owners were pretty cool people. One guy was a bit of a smarmy smart ass. He was older and he got a pass. I ignored his shitty condesending comments about harleys. I've come to learn there is one in every crowd, he likes the attention and to respond inevitable leads to a bad place. The others seemed sense that and came over and were talking to us about motorcyling and learning to ride in formation and riding with harley riders is the best way to learn how to ride in formation. We ran into them again the next...
