I have a 100ci Rev Tech with the 5 speed Rev Tech Trans and Spike starter. Sometimes when the engine is hot and I try to start it, a terrible grinding noise eminates from the primary (the starter pinion is not engaging the ring gear). With a bump or 2 of the starter I can get it to engage. I first thought it was a grounding problem. I tightened up grounds and checked them for good contact. The batt ground was a little loose, so I thought that was the problem. The problem got better (It doesn't do the griding thing very often now), but it still occurs on a hot day after riding hard for a couple of hours then taking a break and trying to restart. Frustrating.

I have 1974 shovel head with about 93 cid now my oil tank when the bike is turned over wil pulsate ( expand and retract) then push oil through th blowby It's drivind me crazy what could be the problem.

New to HD. Bought an '04 FLHTC. Stock now. Was looking at the V&H new header pipe and true dual set up. Which carb/rejetting kit and airfilter would work best?? Many thanks!

I'v been thinking of putting an S&S carb on my shovelpan, I now have a bendix which needs to be rebuilt. I heard kicking it with an S&S is a sweaty job,it now starts within 4 kicks how true is it or should I just rebuild the bendix and hope that will stop the high then low idle at stops. Could it be some other problem with the carb or manifold leaking in air.
IRONSLEDGE

pulled it apart and clutch basket and stator/and rotor wasted.
magnet parts came out of primary.
