A Great Friend and forum member talked about the miles he has put on his bike over the years. That got me thinking about the amount of time that I've spent on 2 wheels since I started riding. I was shocked when I added up the miles that I have put on in 8 years. Not only the miles am I thinking about, but also the people.
I remember when I first joined the forum looking for advice and eager to learn whatever I could, of course there were those that I didn't care for and didn't or dont care for me. I remember that I didn't care about that then and certainly don't today, however that doesn't mean I didn't learn something from them.
Because of certain people that I have met through motorcycles, not just this forum, but other places as well, I have am able to take a bike apart and put it...

I just had the local Harley shop replace front and rear tires, repacked wheel bearings, and balanced. This helped some what on my wheel wobble but now it pulls to the left unless I hold handle bars tight. Harley mechanic said its because my primary chain and rear chain are on the left side. This doesn't sound right to me. Can any of yall give me some idea on what I can check to correct this. It wasn't pulling until I had the wheels changed which makes me think it might be in that area. They said if I try to adjust one side or the other of my rear wheel adjusters there's a chance it will make my chain and sprocket wear out along with the new rear wheel. Any Ideas? Thanks, B Nick

Hey guys! New to the site as a member but have read a few threads that were informative and answered by people who actually seem to know what they're talking about, so wanted to post here to help clarify the proper things needed for optimal tuning of my carb.
I have a '06 883 custom with SE intake and VH exhaust. The carb was left stock and overall the bike runs okay, but looking for a little more performance and hopefully eliminate or reduce the "lag" or "burp" just off idle.
Ive seen many videos and posts on ideas to tune the carb, but wanted to get clarity on what is the actual best setup regarding:
- Slow jet - stick with stock 42 or move to a 45?
- Enrichment screw - 2-1/2 or 2-3/4 turns?
- Needle - to shim or not to shim?
- Main jet - what size is best considering my current...

My front end wants to start to wobble sometimes when I slow down to about 40 mph. Ive seen in the forums that this may be because of the front end fork stem nut may need tightening some. Or the front tire. Im putting on new front and rear tires in the morning. I keep reading about the fall away test but none of my manuals tell what it is or how to do it. I can imagine but I dont know. How is it done and what do I need to do it? Im sure some one out there knows and is willing to share it with me. Thanks

Hey, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, i wasn't sure where to post, but i am a new rider and i am looking to get a road bike as my first. I'm 6 foot tall and 90kg/200lbs, i am looking at the ninja 300 or the Honda 300R so far, but ive read that they might be too small for taller riders. i wouldnt say im exactly tall but im only 18 and plan on keeping the bike for a few years and i dont want to out grow it etc. Just looking for some advise really, is a 300cc bike, particularly the ones i mentioned, going to be big enough and powerful enough for me, or should i be looking at something a bit bigger?
