i have a 2005 softail, cams, 1550 conversion, exhaust, stock carb reject, in phx and ran great. here in Utah, it seems like its having a little difficulty idling, mid to top range is fine, so my questions are , what size or model cv carb came stock in 2005? and if the air is thinner up here, is it the pilot jet i should start with? and if so, size up or down? and what number jet would you start with? where can i get the pilot jet? plus any other helpful advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

So I took a run to Reno today, just to feel the wind and the power of my machine. Like most of us do, when we can. Stopped at my favorite cigar store, Fumare, as Life's stresses are strong and I needed some smoky relief (even though California's fires have been clogging our air for a week - sometimes it makes no sense). Since that run is over a hundred miles, I switched off the trip meter that I'm usually on (carburated, so no low fuel-low warning light) and checked out the odometer. Twenty miles from home I watched as it went from 99, 999 to 100,000 miles. Coooool.
. I know I still have a few miles to go to make up for dyno runs and other mechanic's test rides, but still cool. Ol' Red, my 1999 Road King, has done her job. We've had our ups and downs, most notably on a...

While riding my Gold Wing, I swerved to avoid hitting a deer, lost control and landed in a ditch, severely banging my head. Dazed and confused I crawled out of the ditch to the edge of the road when a shiny new convertible pulled up with a very beautiful woman who asked, "Are you okay?"
As I looked up, I noticed she was wearing a low cut blouse with cleavage to die for... "I'm okay I think," I replied as I pulled myself up to the side of the car to get a closer look.
She said, "Get in and I'll take you home so I can clean and bandage that nasty scrape on your head."
"That's nice of you," I answered, "but I don't think my wife will like me doing that!"
"Oh, come now, I'm a nurse," she insisted. "I need to see if you have any more scrapes and then treat them properly."
Well, she was...

I have a '98 Softail Custom and have some transmission troubles, these have been going on for a couple years now, and gradually getting worse.
First of all I changed all oils, and filled them correctly.
I changed the clutch pressure plates, but not the steel plates.
The clutch is adjusted correctly as far as I can tell. I can pull the clutch in with the bike running and the bike doesn't "lurch" forward, as the case when the clutch isn't adjusted correctly and is partially engaged. I can also pull the clutch in and "walk" the bike forward and backwards without the slightest sensation of the bike trying to pull forward.
The engine and tranny are stock and the replacement friction plates are aftermarket stock replacement disks.
The Problems:
1. When the ambient temperature is cold, the bike...

Co worker had a Kawasaki nomad 1500. Always wantd a hd but raising kids and what not he couldn't afford it. Finally kids grown. He pulled the trigger on a 1998 FLSTS the other day.
