Well, after several years of sitting neglected we purchased our old Dyno back from a shop it was sold to. A lot of cleaning and a new sensor and instrument package later, we were able to make our first test runs. Being that the old mule is gone, we decided to run the Road King on it. Everything is looking good and I cannot wait for the dynamic brake and the real time EGA so we can get a lot more accuracy during runs and tuning.
As a side note, I had some interesting results from the run on the 2KRK. The configuration is:
95"
9.5:1 flat tops
Stock heads
TW37G cams
Bub X-Dresser headers
Hooker Tuned flow mufflers left to torque right to power
I had always figured this to be about 72-75hp and mid 80's in torque.
The results showed I was correct in torque but the HP was only 65-66.

Hi. I have an 02 Dyna w/ the stock mufflers. Looking to get a better sound but not too loud so as to bother the neighbors or require earplugs when I ride. I am thinking about the Screamin Eagle ll slash downs or the Screamin Eagle Torque Mufflers (tapered). Has anyone heard these and can you tell me how they compare to stock as far as the sound is concerned? Also, I see that Dyno Power has a very reasonbly priced tapered slip-on. Would like to know if anyone has their 2 cents to offer on them. (I plan on a re-jet and air cleaner upgrade, also). Again, I don't want to anounce my presence to the world every time I ride, just want the bike to sound like a Harley. Thanks for all your info! ...........Harry

Purchased a 04 Fatboy mid May. Hadn't driven it 2 blocks before it "coughed" through the carb. I had never owned a Harley prior to this one, but had logged many hours on an Electra Glide in the late 80's and early 90's as a Police Officer. I only had the performance of that bike to compare to the new one. I put about 500 miles on the bike and it still occassionally "coughed" through the carb, hesitated on throttle response, took forever to warm up, and just didn't "run" as well as the Electra Glide. Anyway, I took it back to the dealer who told me I was comparing apples to oranges and that was "just the way they ran". Because of EPA standards on emissions, the carb was set so lean the bike was starving for gas. He suggested a stage 1 conversion at the 1000 mile service. Long...

Anyone know if a 140 will fit the rear of a 98 fatboy without alterations?

I just bought a 04 Road King Classic. I replaced the stock pipes with Screamin Eagles. I was considering having someone remove the baffles. Will this affect the engine perfomance? I want the louder sound, but I don't want to damage the bike as a result. What's your opinion on removing baffles? Thanks !!!!
