Hey guys, I'm building a 3 cylinder Feuling and decided to use Suzuki Hyabusa
wheels. I built the rear pully to fit the stock Suzuki cush drive and I'm using
the 1.125 Gates rear belt. The pulleys align like stock. Under hard acceleration
in first gear the belt snaps.
Anybody out there ever try this combo? I really don't think it was torque
that killed the belt, I'm thinking that a cush drive might come out af alignment
under acceleration, it wouldn't matter as much with a chain.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Bill

I have a 93 Harley Davidson FXRS -Conv with the Buckhorn type handlebars (with air nipple) and the front air suspenson. What does it take to change these handlebars out, thus eliminating the air suspension? Will I need heavier springs and oil in the forks to compensate? I know that Flanders will custom make any handlebar into an air system, but I really don't want to go that way. I would like to eliminate the system all together......is that a mistake? Thanks for any help.....

"A guy told me..."
"The dealer said..."
"They say..."
Enough of this hearsay, rumor, and BS!
I want authoritative, scientific, genuine, textbook material on motorcycle engine theory and practice, carbueration, and EFI.
The shop manuals tell you 'what' to do but I want to know the science and theoy, so I can 'talk like I know what I'm talking about" and actually know what I'm talking about. I want to be able to evaluate performance options and setup with true science. Most of what I hear in the parking lots is 'old-timer gossip', and pure antecdotal crap.
Does anyone know some reference materials along these lines that is worth reading and studying. I can follow the math and science.
Yo, down the road,

I have 500 miles on my new 05 Road King Classic. After the first 5 miles I knew the stock pipes had to go! V&H Ovals are on order. I know I can have the local HD shop re-map the bike or I can install a power commander. I am looking for recommendations and any one who has installed the pc. HD Shops say don't do it ... but they are paid to say that, right?
Thanks, Mark

I just installed a set of highway pegs on my Road King. Is there any certain way your feet are suppose to set on the foot pegs? It seems more comfortable for me to rest my heel on top of the foot pegs. I see others with the ball of their foot on the peg. I wasn't sure if there was a safety reason for this?? Thanks!!!
