I was under the impression that a Stage 1 re-calibration was a computer upgrade done by the dealer at the dealer's location in the form of a computer download to my ECM. I've been seeing on eBay people selling Stage 1 re-calibration cartridges.
Can I buy a Stage 1 cartridge for my 2004 FLHTCUI and install it myself or do I need to pay the dealer for parts and labor? The HD catalogue says the re-calibration costs $150 but I assumed that was all labor. Will I still have the original configuration cartridge in my possession in case I want to revert back to stock? Or, is this something else I am seeing on eBay?
Thanks, ahead of time.

Just a couple of quick questions if I might. Any of you out there use Markel American Insurance? Has anyone ever had a claim where they depreciate items listed on repair following an accident.

Again, my friend has a 2001 100" Revtech on a Softail style custom frame. His primary belt broke and we are having difficulty finding a new one at the local shops. The first thing they ask is the brand name of the primary drive. The problem is that there is know way I can see to determine this. I have the primary cover off and there are no markings anywhere except for the CCI logo on the inside of the inner primary. Nothing to determine the make of the drive kit itself. The other part of the problem is that he purchased this bike from someone else so he doesn't have any of the original documentation from the builder. It is a one piece inner primary, does not seem to have any adjustment mechanism sucha s idler pully, the belt itself is a Gates Poweregrip GT 78138 x 41 MMK. Any help...
