Hi – I bought a set of Rinehart by Bub Exhaust pipes (from directparts.com) for my 2000 FLHTCUI Harley Davidson.
They went on perfect, look & sound good too.
However, they now present a service dilemma that perhaps you are or may not be aware of?
With the “stock” pipes, in order to get into the derby cover to adjust the clutch, all you had to do, was remove the passenger foot rest using a 5/16” hex head tool in order to access the torque screw (‘s) on the 5 torque screw cover plate.
However, the new Rinehart by Bub Exhaust pipes extend out to a point that the exhaust pipe completely blocks access to the 5/16” hex head bolt in order to remove the passenger foot rest.
It appears that the only way to gain access to this bolt is to completely remove the entire exhaust...

I am considering buying and building a Custom Chrome Eldorado kit bike over this coming winter. I was wondering if anyone out there has or knows anyone that has one with comments or complaints. I like the Revtech 100" as I know a few people that have them. It's the rest of the kit I was wondering about. I would like to hear from people that were not recommended by the ditributers since they are the ones selling the things and would not advertise complaints. Any and all input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Just bought a 2004 wide glide and considering the addition of new pipes. Only want a little more sound than the stock pipes and the Screamin eagles should give me what I want. Besides, I don't want to wake the whole neighborhood at 6:30AM when I roll out of the garage. I have a couple of questions though.
(since I'm new to this...)
The HD site says that the SE pipes are illegal for sale and use with CA emissions equipped vehicles. Is there anything else I should know other than replacing the pipes? Smog stuff...etc. (Um, don't care about the illegal thing so much as the smog warranty stuff.)
Will this void the smog warranty?
Any suggestions would be welcome as I'm here to learn.
Thanks.

Question, I have a 82 FLH. Shovel with 4 speed. Anyway, heres my problem. After riding at highway speeds and I get back to town or just putting around town. The motor starts to miss something fierce, and eventually will quit. Now after I let it sit for 10-15 min. The bugger will fire right up and run fine. I have no problems with it riding down th highway. Just when the motor is good and warm and putting around town or so. Thanks and any help is great.
