What went wrong is now right - I finally have my bike back from the shop and am pleased that I would have never been able to get it running right myself: the Dyno was key.
As some my recall, I rode from here in Nevada to Texas & back in October and my bike has been in the shop ever since, until yesterday, because it was running like crap and hard to start - but not always. Turns out that it had multiple issues that weren't necessarily constant. The Twin-Tech ignition unit was "faulty", but in a way that even the Twin-Tech techs were unfamiliar with. They could not explain why it failed like it did, but once replaced it was obvious that it was one of the problems.
The CPS - crank position sensor - had also failed, but maybe not all the time. Once these two issues were resolved, then...

Was looking into getting a new rotor. EBC offers a wide or narrow rotor. To me the wide would give more cooling area vs the narrow. They are both 11.5" with wide having 2" surface area and the narrow 1.5. Same pads. Any one have any experience with either? Can't decide.
Thanks

Men, (and women, if you're out there say so), this Fall/Winter is a suckfest. My ride, Ol' Red, has been in the shop since friggin October, right after I got back from my San Antonio run! Something is causing it to think it is over-revving and shutting off when I get on it, and no one has found why yet. If I didn't have Suzy-Q, my dual-sport 650cc, I'd really be nuts.
Damn, I can't wait to get my baby back and hit the highway. Probably be knee deep in snow then, but today is just rain, rain, rain...but even the ducks have moved on, it seems, as hunting has been mostly a bust so far this year.
Enough whine, time for whiskey............

I guess I was too happy to see youse Floooridians freezing. So the Lord put me in my place and hit Long Island with a blizzard and up to 14" of the snow (last estimate anyway, it started at 3-6").
