I bought a stock 2008 Dyna Superglide last year for a bar hopper. I like it all right, except I want the handlebars closer to me. Anybody know how tall a riser I can use on the stock wiring harness and cables before I have to change them? There is some slack in the wiring and cables, but I'd like to not have to buy 2 or 3 sets of risers before I find the right ones.
Thanks,
Snyde

Hello all, has anyone came across a stock ignition for a 88cid TC causing too much spark advance?
The timing mark going by the ground strap is about a 1/16" from the base ring on the plug. I am thinking that is is too much timing for the combination and the spark plugs have some balls of aluminum on the firing side of the ground strap. The old plugs had it all down the porcelain.
The bike I think might have some aftermarket camshafts-- no information on cams at all, K&N style filter, a 2-1 Cycle Shack header, the plugs are NGK DCPR8ES.
Jetting is 190 main, 46 slow jet and a shimmed older sportster needle and the A/F screw is 2-1/8 turns out. Idles about 850 or so.
I have not heard any pinging /knocking or anything but from what I know the plugs are showing too much timing and...

Got the shovel out this spring, not too long ago actually, and was performing the changing of the fluids. Got to the transmission and put a catch pan underneath popped the plug and drained what was left in her. (yeah I have the 4 speed leaky transmission blues, gotta write a song some time) When I put the plug back in and went to torque it she kept right on spinning, damn! Took it back out with what was left of the aluminum threads. You guys know this one?
So I grabbed the big old inspection mirror and my calipers to start looking at what needed to happen. Friggin hole in the transmission was a smooth as a babies bottom, OK, there was a slight trace of what might have once been a thread running up through there. I figured well I guess I'll have to try one of those stripped out...

Ok so Last Sunday was the end of the week of riding, put on about 600 miles for the week, not to bad for a 45 mile long island. On our last stop for a coffee I was backing up to park the bike and with the engine not running I heard a loud clicking coming from the front wheel and thought I might have a louse brake pad, after limping her home pulled the calipers and spun the wheel and the noise was still there. Just prior to moving to the Azores I had the bearing replaced while having the front tire replaced, I had 46000 miles on the original, this time I had put on about 14000 miles on the front tire in the past 18 months. sure enough the right side bearing was rather cooked, plenty of grease but it wobbled a bit side to side in the center. I worked with someone using a bunch of different...
