I'm new to the sight and I have a question. I ride a 04 Super Glide and I just bought a set of Vance and Hines Pro Pipe HS and the competition baffle and the appropriate Vance And Hines Jet Kit. And I was looking at two different air cleaners the Screaming Eagle kit or the Arlen Ness Big Sucker 2 any insight to which one is better would be helpful, and once I install the air cleaner would I have to re-jet my carb to allow for the extra air?

Thanks CD!!! the big sucker on my 02 wide glide makes it run like a scalded dog!!! I did a few plug runs... and as usual got several opinions on rich vs lean(I ended up stopping quickly by my local dealer expert for my own satisfaction) My first pass was a bit lean for me but the power was great!!
(too bad the lean side will get ya in the long run)
I added a little more idle mix screw (factory CV)and away I went again..The mid range pickup is VERY noticable. A fellow rider took off with those "Drag pipes" by the time it hit that little powerband window drags give ya all my mid pickup left him quickly ( Torque Motor power!!)...but the big thing was the less amount of throttle I use at cruising speed!! less effort for the bike to move!!! from just a pair of slip ons (as usual I live...

Hello all, I just purchased a set of strait shots for my 04 Fat Boy. Does anyone happen to know the torque for the nuts that hold the reainer to the head? Thanks in advance.

I hear a lot of discussion on VH, Rinehart, Samson, Hooker, ect. ect. but nothing about Bassani exhaust systems. I too have a new 04 Road King Classic and I would like to make it sound like a Harley and not a Singer sewing machine. Whenever I ride with my buddies they are always telling me to start my bike, but I tell them its already running. ha ha. But really I don't want it so loud I will get a ticket.
I was told by a highly recommended mechanic that the Rineharts are good but if If I ever decide to go to a 96 inch kit then Bassani's would be best.
Another thing is all the brands now offer true dual exhaust. I am going to get the stage I and change out the stock air cleaner, and probably buy the power commander pcIII usb, but this exhaust stuff is really a pain.
Does anyone...

I have a 1998 sportster 883. It has developed a rumbling type noise that is quite load. The noise is present in any gear but will slowly stop when the clutch is engeged. Any suggestions?
I have change the lubricant in the transmission but no luck.
